DC Collectibles Dr. Harleen Quinzel - Arkham Origins

Harley Quinn's story in Arkham Origins stays true to the source material. She begins as a psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum, having always had a morbid fascination with the mentally insane. She meets Joker and falls in love, beginning her transformation from Dr. Harleen Quinzel into the sidekick lover/villain who eventually turns into an anti-hero.

I think one of the greatest things about the character is how she became part of Batman comic book canon from Batman The Animated Series by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. This particular look for Harley Quinn only turns up for a few scenes in the game.

To be honest, this is the MOST unappealing action figure out of any Arkham line of action figures I've seen. The paint and look is good, but the articulation is so very awful, it's not really a necessary figure...I mean, did anyone want this look for Harley from the game? The only reason I own it at this point is that it came super cheap in the three pack that consists of Harley, Shiva and Electrocutioner (reviews to follow!)

Sculpt/Paint: 4/5 The look for the figure is really accurate to the game. The paint is fairly clean minus a few smudges. The hair, clothing, ID tag and the little mistletoe piece tie up all the smaller details. She's got some decent skin shading and the facial features are well done.

Articulation: 3/5 (13 points): On the one hand the figure is so poorly articulated from the waist down that it becomes a shore to keep it standing upright in a standard pose. On the other, this version of Harley doesn't really need to have a ton of dynamism. Single jointed elbows and knees (very limited range), limited shoulder movement, no ankle or wrist movement (weird) but mid-bicep and thigh cut swivels (ok). The skirt is restrictive so much so that it is nearly impossible to keep her standing without the use of sticky tack or a stand.

Price/Availability: 5/5 You can only get this figure in the three pack but on the plus side it is VERY cheap.  I got mine for a mere 40 CAD, and while I would basically call it 1 and 1/2 figures worth of articulation, it's still a good deal.

Accessories: 2/5: She's only got one accessory, and that's her clipboard. It is well painted but there's...nothing on it! So it takes a bit away from being a psychiatrist when you're carrying around nothing!

Fun Factor: 1/5: This goes along with April O'Neil for being one of the worst. You can barely stand her and she looks decent as a figure but doesn't add too much to the Arkham line. You also can't put her into interesting poses.

Verdict: 15/25 Okay This is an ok figure overall, but not one I would ever seek out. In fact, out of every Arkham action figure in the 7-inch scale, this would dead last in my collection after every other piece if not for the fact it came very cheap in a 3 pack.

The Dr. is in!
Her clipboard. Pretty good, but
blank?
Struttin' her stuff!
The badge isn't bad if a bit fuzzy
Time to throw away your clipboard, medical degree and
livelihood to pursue crime with a psychopath!
