DC Direct Batman: Arkham Asylum

In 2009, Rocksteady released Batman: Arkham Asylum, easily one of my favourite video games of all time. Compared to the sequels and prequel game, Asylum had the spooky factor down. The original figure for this line looked like this: 2011 Batman Arkham Asylum Figure. Needless to say, an odd mix of blue and black in the batsuit.

This version was released in a boxed set with Joker, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow (reviews to come).
This Batman is a solid figure with very little in terms of articulation. The paint is decent in the eyes and face, but very little paint or details elsewhere. The accessories are pretty nice though! A shiny black Batarang that folds? A grapple gun with removable grapple? If only more figures in the Arkham Asylum line had as much!

Sculpt & Paint: 5/10 The head, while a bit small for the bulky body, has good details. The rest of the body doesn't have much, with the rest unpainted sculpting. It's decent.

Articulation: 4/10 13 points of articulation. No ankle, or even waist swivel. Though the cape is draped well, it also interferes with the horizontal extension of the arms.

Price/Availability: 3/10 Good luck finding this one for anywhere under 200+ dollars for the originally 70 dollar set. Also, likely only sold as part of the four pack, or Bane & Batman 2 pack.

Accessories: 5/10 (Normally 4, but c' mon...folding Batarang!) While not raining down accessories, the folding batarang is much more fun than any of the other batarangs for any other batman in this line. Maybe ANY line! Also, the grapple gun, while not painted, has a decent sculpt and removable piece.

Verdict: 17/40 It's okay. Not DCs best work, but not a bad improvement on their original figure.

Because he's Batman! Also I just noticed how many tiny
folds that were sculpted in....

With this, he can stop anyone!

This picture is a picture of Batman posing for a picture.

They say that Batman never uses guns
WRONG CRIMINALS!

Don't forget...to make me a better suit....in my sequel!

I cannot stress how much this folds into a DARKCLAW!

You know, he made the term gadget hero cool
