In the Arkham games, The Penguin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot), is very similar to what he is in any other media form. He's a short, long-nosed, corrupt little man who runs a black market of weapons and runs the Iceberg lounge as one of his larger business fronts. But this isn't just any game, it's Arkham, so as a design choice, Penguin has a broken bottle stuck in his head instead of a monocle. How quaint!
The figure is super well done, but the articulation may be one of the worst out of the whole line, tied with The Mad Hatter. I appreciate that they made his top hat out of soft rubbery material so it's less likely to get damaged or fall and chip paint. He's a solid figure though, and looks great with the others!
Sculpt/Paint: 3/3 Really good job here. Nice fur textures for his coat and vest, good shading and such a good job of the face area. I like the addition of the breather that was likely the result of a Batman fight. Very impressed that they managed to put a very nice clear plastic piece and paint to really recreate the broken bottle in his head!
Articulation: 1/3 8 Points. 8 Points! That is the lowest number of points out of any figure I own, including the Playmates villains. Basically below waist swivels and nothing after that. The arms are permanently bent, no elbow joints. The wrists swivel, the shoulders have ball swivel joints, and the head has some decent movement. That's it!
Accessories: 1/1 He comes with his hat, nice rubbery material to allow you to keep it fixed on, and his umbrella closed, which works well. He doesn't really use it for much combat-wise. He's very much a story character in the games.
Fun Factor: 1/3 Like the Riddler, this one looks good standing, but not for much else. Glad I got it on a deal with a lot!
Verdict: 6/10 Limited. Great for a completionist collection, but not really poseable or particularly interesting unless you're into this character. I happen to find this design is closest to my favourite penguin, the Keaton Batman Penguin.
