Mafex Medicom Poison Ivy - Batman Hush

Poison Ivy has always been one of the most understood villains to me. Extreme? Yes. A little more murdery at times than necessary? Maaaaybe! But ultimately her motivation is fighting for the ecosystem that humans have ruined. I get it! This version is from the Hush comics, where she has managed to use her powers to control Superman. That is pretty wild! In this case, he is commanded to kill Batman, but luckily he has a plan with Catwoman to drop Lois Lane from a building, forcing Superman to break his compulsion and save her.

This figure from Mafex is stellar as usual! Excellent details on the face, simple design and many extras to attach to create vine effects throughout the figure. I don't love how all the vine effects are fairly loose, I feel like they could have been better off with other attachment pegs that might be held at the back of the limbs and torso. The alternate hands, money case and heads are also a great addition.
Sculpt & Paint: 3/3 The face paint and sculpts on this figure are particularly finely painted. The hair has a nice texture and is painted with good highlighting. Other than that, the rest of the body is a fairly simple paint design with minimal shading. The sculpt works well and definitely feels fairly realistic, minus perhaps the legs (they seem a bit long?).

Articulation: 3/3 (30+ points) Very smooth and easy shiting in the joints. The diaphragm and waist joints are what I particularly love about Mafex because they leave enough room in the sculpts to allow major movement both forward and backward as well as side to side (even on female figures, say whaaaaat). The range of motion for the doubled elbow and knee joints is great, and the toe hinge is very reasonable and not too floppy or ugly. I haven't had this in a while but the figure also has drop-down hips for extra range of hip stretching motion. Nice!

Accessories: 1/1 I can't think how they could add much else. It has many vine attachments (don't love how loose they are though), an open money case, a closed case, a vine collar for a Mafex Superman, lots of hands, some extra heads and a free-floating money stack.

Fun Factor: 2/3 Very cool figure, but because of the small feet and textures of the slippers, it's difficult for her to stand unassisted. Also because she's generally not doing much except summoning plants, there aren't necessarily a ton of poses that make sense to keep her in on the shelf.

Verdict: 9/10 WorthyIt is a very cool figure and likely the best version of Ivy I'll ever own. Most of the others are even more overly sexualized and/or not as articulated. If you are collecting Hush or a nice 1/6th scale Ivy, this one is for you! Highly recommend if you can still find it.

I think I like this head sculpt best.

Decent splits, but it was so difficult to balance her
on one foot for a kick I gave up on that

Lots of well done accessories. I wish the money
was a different enough green to stand out more against her
hands however.

Summoning those plants!

I like how odd the finger placements are for each of
her suitcase-holding hands. This one is metal though, so had to be done.

Look at all 'em dollars, Catwoman

Quick scale comparison

Whoops! Forgot to include Huntress so here she is.

"Sick 'em boy scout!"
