McFarlane Toys Arkham Knight Batman Vs. DC Collectibles Arkham Knight Batman

In full credit to Toy Galaxy's youtube channel for when Dan did comparisons between two of the same figures from different companies or lines, this is a quick comparison of the two Arkham Knight Batmans: DC Collectibles vs. McFarlane toys. A note: This comparison uses the Battle Damaged version from DC collectibles as I never got the original!

Here are our categories!     Sculpt and Paint
                                            Overall Accuracy
                                            Accessories
                                            Articulation

Sculpt/Paint: This one is tough right from the get-go. On the one hand, DCC Batman has far nicer paint highlights and drybrushing, as well as having bothered to paint anything in a metal/gunmetal color. On the other hand McFarlane's has far better proportions albeit with a distinct lack of paint in many areas. I'm going with McFarlane on this one as a much better physical representation since (and I am NOT a fan of this) paint can be applied to a figure...but changing the sculpt is not in the cards.  McFarlane Wins!

Overall Accuracy: Both here encounter quite a few problems. The DCC is woefully inaccurate for proportions of the legs and head. The DCC version has a slightly better face sculpt for accuracy but McFarlane has widened sides and paint doesn't quite show up well. Draw! Neither comes out great here

Accessories: Here it's a Batarang plus extra hand that serves no purpose for DCC vs. the stand, card, explosive gel gun, REC gun and Batarang for McFarlane. McFarlane gets more for accessories here, but it shouldn't feel too proud cause there's no paint on anything except the Batarangs bat logo. McFarlane wins!

Articulation: They're both close here despite some very different engineering. They can both do the splits fairly well and have a really good range of motion. McFarlane has better lateral arm movement, double-jointed range in the elbows, and head range. I think this makes it superior but it is worth noting that the DCC has an actual and well-hidden swivel and better double jointed knee range.
McFarlane wins!

McFarlane is a wee bit taller here and 100% bulkier

Too bad these shoulder pads always bend out of place with
play. Some heat will fix that.
McFarlane might have made their cape folds a bit TOO extra.

Accessorize! Notice that like 8 years between figures
and they still don't have punching hands.

McFarlane looks up with a better angle which
you really want with Batman.

Sorry for the blurriness, but McFarlane elbow
bends far better. Ugly joint though.

The forward bend is not fantastic in either but better
in the DCC

Backbend is far better and more natural-looking
for McFarlane

DCC has a far better bend and the knee cap
looks a lot less oogly. #actionfigureshaming

Splits are pretty comparable!

Were the results biased? Always! But in the end I think while it's easier to handle the DCC collectibles and put it into poses, the McFarlane version is more aesthetically pleasing. I'm not sure I'd say either is a very good representation of the game, but they succeed partially in certain aspects.
