DC Collectibles Deadshot - Arkham Origins

After seeing some very reasonable sales on Amazon I've managed to acquire more of the 8 assassins from the Arkham Origins video game. Was it as good as any other in the Arkham series? No, but it still had some great fights and cutscenes that were motion captured by stunt people and gave me a tideover snack, if you will, before the Arkham Knight game.

This look for Deadshot is a lot closer to his comic book look than the Arkham City game. In the game, he actually saves Batman a few times for the selfish purpose of being the one to kill him personally and collect the 50 million dollar bounty. He is eventually defeated via Batman breaking both his arms and leaving him for the police!

As was DC Collectibles way further into the line of Arkham figures, this one has improved articulation compared to Arkham City and Arkham Asylum figures, but like the others was barebones on accessories. Masterful painting, shading and sculpting though!

Sculpt/Paint: 5/5 He's very accurate to the game with the grey mask, puffy coat, baggy pants with pads and boots. He's got tons of great detail. I like the contrast of the grey dull tones with the shiny orange and black jacket he wears. His black side pouch is a flexibly, rubbery plastic that doesn't get in the way of his articulation.

Articulation: 4/5 (27 points) He's got some limiting range, but they put in a few more joints here! The head is a ball joint, and shoulders are typical swivel hinges. The elbows don't bend 90 degrees but also have a hinged swivel (not double-jointed). The wrists are double-jointed though, as are the knees. The torse and chest both have a swivel. I think the chest was intended to have more lean but that doesn't happen here. The hips are just swivels, and there's also a thigh cut swivel. The boots also have a swivel, and the ankles are NOT rockers but rather just forward-facing pit swivels. I did not know this and broke one foot trying to move it forward! Managed to cut a small screw and install it in order to make it close to normal. Anyway, more than I expect for Origins figures!

Accessories: 1/5 Nothing. Again, like most origins figures he doesn't come with anything. In the game he actually has a sniper rifle, so not sure why they couldn't have included that but oh well! DC Collectibles has always been a ship ready to capsize at any moment.

Fun Factor: 3/5 He's definitely less of a statue. You can get his arms in different gun shooting poses, swivel the body a bit and put him in crouching stances, so not too bad! He also looks pretty good and I will definitely have a set up once I manage to get Firefly to complete the set!

Verdict: 13/20 He's definitely a better poseable figure from later in the Arkham 7" line from DC Collectibles (just watch out for the ankles!!). I like his look and if you're collecting the Arkham lines, Deadshot or the 8 assassins he's a must! He's still pretty available from a few sellers on eBay fairly reasonably.

Good details all around but
I'm thinking the black torso
part looks a little long.

Comparison! He is larger in bulk due to
the gear he wears but not bad.

Takedown
Breaking arm 1 of 2!
