SH Figuarts- Sasuke Uchiha (Itachi Battle Version)

Sasuke has always been a cold-hearted rival to Naruto who hailed from the same Ninja village, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. At least, he started out that way, then became a deserter/traitor, full blown villain and then other things! His character is always portrayed as an angry, competitive and very powerful shinobi.

Unlike Naruto, whose powers mostly focus on the Rasengan, Shadow clones and Wind powers, Sasuke's are mostly those of fire, lightning and his eye-powers of the Sharingan, which can do a variety of things from creating illusions, summoning unquenchable black fire, and precognition of movements in battle. Pretty useful!

In the time-skipped Shippuden series, he is a 16 year old studying under the nefarious snake-themed villain Orochimaru, who is growing his power for the one ultimate goal of killing his older brother: Itachi Uchiha.  That's where this version of the character comes in.

The original figure version was nice, but the sleeves of his jacket seemed to limit his arm movement so much, that I decided on this version instead. I quite like this version ! Pretty nice accessories, lots of optional hands and a few faces, plus the sword, sheath and chidori (lightning attack) effect! His articulation is pretty good, with the weakest points being only the butterfly joint and the fact his robes somewhat limit his leg/splits range. As usual, this figure lacks shading of any kind, making the skin color especially featureless, but the likeness is quite good!

Sculpt & Paint: 4/5 Really good job on sculpting the pieces and making it all look very accurate to the fight between himself and his brother. Once again...it would have been far better if they had used some shading! Especially the skin tones.

Articulation: 5/5 (30+) He has an awesome range of articulation. Even his belt knot has a double ball peg to allow you to rotate it out of the way to create a directional action pose! My only complaints is even with this version the butterfly joint gets impeded by the vest edges and I would perhaps have helped to make the skirt piece a softer plastic so it would be easier to move the legs.

Price/Availability: 4/5 He's still available on Amazon (too much), BBTS (regular price) and eBay (about 25% cheaper)

Accessories: 5/5 He has many accessories. He comes with 5 pairs of hands, 3 faces, his sword and scabbard, sheathed sword and chidori lightning effect. One thing I would have liked to see would be his twin lion flame effects he uses in the fight to cause his Kirin lightning attack. They were pretty large though, so that is understandable.

Fun factor: 5/5 Amazing balance, great accessories and a good likeness make this SH Figuarts Sasuke a great figure. Looks great beside all the others in the SH Figuarts Naruto line. Lots of fun!

Verdict: 23/25 Great. Really nice figure for the line! Highly recommend!

Back view: Very small well done clan
Uchiha crest.

Neutral face

Angry Sharingan using face!

My least favourite: Sort of...shocked looking? Or just intense maybe

Drawing the sword! Had to make a small notch on the inside
of the sheath to allow it to look like it's being drawn.

En garde!

Managed to get him to balance on just the
toe hinge!

Style pose hands!

C
Doubles as giving the sword hands!

Dramatic anger pose fists!

Talk to the hand, claw hands!
Also, dramatic opera hands
My tiger kung fu is better than yours!
Hand sign hands!
It's kind of amazing what kind of
poses you can get out of SH Figuarts.
Hear no evil
Chidori!
BAM!

Classic confrontation! You'd think after the first
time they did this exact same thing they would realize
it just doesn't work...

Using all the weapons!

You can tell they're going
to be best friends!

  1. You must have more patience when posing than I do, I've never gotten a Figuarts balanced on just the toes before. Does the belt just swivel at the knot? How flexible is the material used for the belt?

    1. It took a long time!!! Yeah actually the belt knot and bow has a tiny double ball peg. It falls off kinda easily, but it can be posed quite a bit. The belt itself isn't flexible. The part at the back is molded open so that you can slip the sword scabbard in.
