S.H. Figuarts Ichiraku Ramen Set Diorama - Naruto + Shippuden

Naruto, being the speedy, energetic, and powerful little demon fox child he is, requires a ton of calories, presumably! The show establishes very early on that his favourite food is ramen, specifically miso pork ramen! He was treated very well by the owner, Teuchi, and his daughter, Ayame, when he was experiencing all the troubles of his childhood. Plus, ramen is just super tasty!

I never would have imagined SH Figuarts making a diorama set for Naruto, but here we are! It is a pretty detailed depiction of the setup and comes with more accessories than I could have possibly guessed. It's actually insane. It's easy to build, though caution for those with less patience that all the tiny tiny parts will definitely be spilling all over the place while you set it up for photos or in a display, so don't do what I did and just use some tweezers for the small piece placements! This came out a year ago, so I'm pretty late to the game, given how long I've had it out, but it's worth taking a little dive into!

Aesthetic: 2.5/3 This was really quick to build, and they put in a lot of effort into making the textures of the countertops, walls, and the noren (fabric dividers) look accurate and stylish. They even have posters and menus pasted inside! The roof has pretty good shading and highlights to give it that slightly worn look, even if it is flat and not actually sculpted. They tried hard not to detract from the roof by connecting it with clear acrylic clips, but they are a little distracting, along with the fact that the puzzle's edges stand out and aren't covered with roof texture, leaving white parts that stand out. This is really only an issue when you try to capture a full picture of the outside instead of close-ups.

Durability: 1/1 This diorama and the accompanying accessories are very lightweight, yet well-made enough that it'd be hard to break them with just regular handling. The walls and roof tiles are made of a light, good foam with painted glossy cardboard faces that don't seem to scratch easily and are a little water resistant (don't ask me how I know that....).

Functionality: 2/2 When it comes to usage, you can put just about anyone here, even if it's not canon, for both hilarious and heart-warming times that Naruto has had or in your head canon, could have had! The accessories included here are dizzying. We've both fourteen ramen bowls, one of which has the restaurant name on it. Two miso pork pieces that fit in to the bowls, two sets of hands with chopsticks in each (one for large characters, one for small), two sets of hands to hold the ramen bowls, two hands with ramen in the chopsticks, two kid Naruto faces looking stuffed and content, four stools, two condiment shakers, one large serving plate, 6 small glasses, AND a chopstick serving cup. As previously mentioned, handle the small ones with a tool...they're just too light for clumsy human digits!

Verdict: 5.5/6 Overall, this is a reall,y really good set, and my gripes are minor but make it just short of being perfect. I'd love if they changed how the roof was done to slightly improve the aesthetic, but in all other respects, it's an amazing set to spice up your Naruto shelf! Once I get the new Jiraiya, I'll be taking more shots!

Naruto is standing slightly in the foreground for scale. Not too bad
probably supposed to be slightly larger, but it works.

Inside the shop!

This is an ad poster for a sake joint! Oh my!
I believe they censored alcohol out of the North American
anime release, but that it is present in the manga and
original Japanese release.

And a menu! most of these items are just
different kinds of ramen...and if that's yen or ryo
or whatever is used, it's cheap!

The accessories. Wow!

Oishi!

When Kakashi sits down to eat with the gang
and they want to see his face.....one of the best
part 1 filler episodes is just Team 7 imagining
and trying to take a peak!

Inside the shop without flash but filters

With flash. Both I like for different vibes!
