Bruce Wayne of Earth -32 is pretty similar initially. His parents die, and he sees the murderer, Joe Chill. His emotions leave him and are replaced by a cold void. A green lantern ring finds its way to him, and he uses its powers to find and kill Joe Chill. Now, Green Lantern rings don't usually allow the bearer to create a construct that kills, but Bruce forces his incredible willpower while flooding the ring with his cold emotionless void, breaking that one rule. After killing Jim Gordon for questioning his methods, the Green Lantern Corps comes after him. Then he up and murders them all! Wow.
Afterward, he enters the Green Lantern Power Battery by shedding his former identity and adopting a Batman type persona after the cave of bats under the manor. As his world is crumbling, The Batman Who Laughs offers he join the Dark Knights in subverting the Multiverse.
This isn't the first time by a longshot that Batman has had a power ring, but it is easily the evilest version! Change my mind! I like how they captured the figure. His skin is this dusky grey, he's got a mean sneer on his face, and his Green Lantern outfit really pops against the black underlayer. I added a slight black wash to most details to make things stand out more, as I'm finding more and more with these figures they are just missing a little something to make them more interesting. His accessory bats are neat, and his poseability works pretty well, though I wish he could look up more. Any flying character should have a lot more head flexibility.
Sculpt/Paint: 2/3 I love the bright green of the shoulder drape of the uniform, as well as the bat symbol with the lantern logo in it. I appreciate his unique, thin body sculpt. It speaks to a Batman who never had to train his body to insane perfection because he already had the power of the ring at a young age. The rest of the sculpt and paint is pretty good. I'm a little sad that they managed slits for eyes but not to make the ring a different green to stand out from the hand though! I tried also doing a little dab of white there to make the symbol stand out more, but it doesn't look like much!
Articulation: 3/3 No points lost here. I feel it has the right amount of joints. The shoulders have a flexible rubbery later that allows more horizontal movement than you'd think. The torso joint is pretty good in most directions except forward. For whatever reason, McFarlane doesn't like making ab joints that crunch forward. Oh well!
Accessories: 1/1 He comes with an acceptable amount. The green bats don't hook on super well to his arm, but they look great and have a nice translucency to them. The flight stand is unique, snaps in well, and carries the figure's weight. The joint with the clip has ratcheting but doesn't turn on the x axis. He of course comes with a card.
Fun factor: 2/3 He's pretty cool to look at, and looks great with the others. He can hold some interesting poses but I'm going out on a limb here and assuming I'll mostly have him in flying poses with his stand, firing his lantern. This is the way!
Verdict: 8/10 Worthy It's definitely a cool looking figure, though I wish it came with a few more constructs or alternate hands. Looks great with your other Dark Knights in the McFarlane scale.
